Okay so this does appear to work in a rather simple way. The other option would involve integrating e-commerce into the website, with a proper digital downloadable product. The cost behind this integration however may outweigh the benefit.
How the simple method works.
These instructions would be similar to what would be displayed on the OOM website:
Click the download button below to open the mag in a new tab of your browser. The PDF should fully download to that tab. Later, when on the plane, open this tab to read the mag without wifi.
